Opening of IntercityHotel to the south of Frankfurt’s main station

This weekend, the first ever guests to stay at the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd took up residence. schneider+schumacher is responsible for the project planning and artistic direction of this modern eight-storey building on Mannheimer Strasse, which was built by CA Immo project developer and investor, and is now on a long term lease to the Steigenberger Hotel Group. The building accommodates 414 soundproofed hotel rooms for both leisure and business travellers, and has an underground car park with 80 spaces. At the ground floor level there is a bar, six conference rooms, and a restaurant with access to an inner atrium. The interior employs natural materials and soft colours and was designed by the renowned architectural practice Matteo Thun & Partners, with whom schneider+schumacher collaborated closely.
